1,000 Prosthetic Legs

Over 655,000 people in Indonesia are currently limbless. Their situation can be caused by a number of factors—from genetic irregularities, complications during birth, disease, medical problems and accidents. A limbless life is filled with challenges, with the most obvious one being mobility. Many limbless Indonesians suffer economically as they cannot obtain a good job and make a decent living. Their life is limited by their condition.

Sequis, one of Indonesia’s leading life insurance providers, was committed to helping limbless Indonesians realize better and more fulfilling lives. Sequis was a pioneer in this area as it is the first Indonesian company to undertake this type of initiative. Working together with Yayasan Peduli Tuna Daksa, Sequis provided 1,000 prosthetic legs to Indonesians who were most in need, giving them a better life and a better tomorrow. Sequis believes that disabled limbless Indonesians deserve better, and that providing prosthetic limbs to those who cannot afford them can open up a new world of mobility and opportunity.
