Top students from more than 30 universities within and outside Indonesia gathered together at the Gunung Sewu 2nd Youth Summit on Social Entrepreneurship & Sustainability towards Meaningful Progress last 11 October to learn and share ideas on how to give impact to society. The annual summit took place at Balai Kartini, Jakarta.
Its first discussion panel featured well-known speakers and guests such as Sati Rasuanto – Managing Director of Endeavor Indonesia, Beaudean Seil – Managing Partner Unitus Impact, Helianti Helman – Founder Javara Indonesia, and Aldi Haryopratomo – RUMA Founder. The speakers discussed everything about social entrepreneurship from how to start a business to making impact to society.
The afternoon session was hosted by Indonesia’s Most Favorite Talkshow Host, Najwa Shihab featuring Husodo Angkosubroto – Chairman of Gunung Sewu, Ed Ng – Group CEO of Gunung Sewu, and Shana Fatina – Founder of Tinamitra Mandiri, a sustainable solutions company for energy and environment.
“Our today’s generation is well-educated, innovative and creative, what you have to do is to find your passion, be open minded, and I believe that each one of you today is committed to make a change and solution to our society. A good business starts when there is an opportunity to find solution to our society’s problems”, said Husodo. “If you do good in your business, you will do good business”, Ed added.
The summit ended with the announcement of winners in the Gunung Sewu Business Case Competition. “This is something that very useful for us, meeting lots of friends from other universities, learning from all great speakers. This event is beyond our expectation”, said one participant.
Congratulations to all winners and see you next year!
