Habitat for Humanity is an NGO dedicated to developing decent and affordable houses for those most in need.
The “Home for a Home” initiative starts with the homes that Farpoint builds on behalf of its customers. Farpoint invited the buyers of the company’s residential projects to engage in the partnership program, so they could take part in becoming donors in the initiative. This is the meaning and the essence of “Home for a Home”, putting in place a sustainable housing initiative that has true resonance with the values of the company.
At the beneficiary level, Habitat for Humanity selects people and communities which are most in need of decent homes, and builds houses for them. Donated homes are built by both Habitat for Humanity experts and volunteers, and recipients or Home Partners. Decent, safe, and healthy homes are constructed in some of Indonesia’s poorest and most in need communities, giving those facing the hardest of hardships hope and a place to call home.
Since 2012, Farpoint has built over 100 homes in the impoverished Indonesian village communities of Desa Marga Mulya and Desa Kedung Dalam (Mauk District, Tangerang). In the village Desa Kedung Dalam, Farpoint is building not only more homes, but also clean and sanitary communal toilets.
All this work is part of the Farpoint philosophy to “Think Beyond”. The belief that everything starts with the home – a better home, a better life, a better community and a better nation.
